Stop smoking hypnotherapy and coaching |
||||||||
| One of the reasons this is under the low self esteem and self confidence section is because smoking adverts have reinforced a subconscious link between smoking and self-confidence. Also Channel 4 (January, 2006) stated that ‘people who are shy or depressed or anxious or traumatised may slip into repeatedly taking a drug and risk addiction. But the catch with this theory is that research also shows that some people who use drugs a lot develop a range of psychological problems which they didn't have before. In other words, it's often hard to know whether the psychological problems led to the drug dependence or vice versa’. As cigarettes are a drug I felt that this was worth a mention! | ||||||||

A very important factor in successfully giving up smoking, whatever method you use, is that you are 100% committed to becoming a non-smoker and have a strong intent to stop smoking. So think very carefully now about this and answer this question honestly…
Am I 100% committed to becoming a non-smoker?’
Whether the answer is a definite ‘yes’ or you still have doubts please contact me and we can discuss this further. Just one coaching session could result in you feeling 100% motivated to give up, so please do not hesitate to contact me for a free initial, no obligation, consultation to discuss help with stopping smoking, any concerns and to ask any questions.
If you choose to book a session following the initial consultation you may be asked to keep a smoking log of each time you light up, why you are doing it, what your mood is and what you get out of it, on both a working and non-working day. This can be very helpful in establishing your personal triggers and through this hypnotherapy can be tailored to your individual needs. The more I can personalise the hypnotherapy treatment the more beneficial it will be.
With coaching and hypnotherapy I aim to give you a different perspective so that if you view it as a chore you will leave seeing it as a positive challenge instead. I will do this by working with you to define what the goal of becoming a non-smoker means to you, including brainstorming ways of getting the same benefits (perceived or real) that smoking gives you, e.g. a way to release stress.
I will teach you new ways of relaxing and reduce any anxiety, fears and/or doubts you have. I will also tap into your belief system and change any incorrect beliefs. For example, your subconscious may hold the belief that smoking enhances relaxation, whereas in actual fact nicotine is a stimulant so it does quite the opposite of relaxing you. I will also help you break any associations such as socialising and smoking or lighting a cigarette after a meal, etc. |

As you may be aware hypnotherapy has proven a successful and easy way of quitting smoking for numerous people. An article in the New Scientist 2003, stated that hypnosis is the most effective way to quit. It stated that clients frequently comment that they just don’t think about smoking for long periods and certainly don’t have the urge to smoke.

Harmony4Life client testimony "I've stopped smoking no problem, I have no desire to smoke. I've really found it easy to stop and I know there are benefits to look forward to after a few more weeks/months." For more testimonies click here. Many hypnotherapists advertise using a guarantee that people will stop smoking permanently after just one session. Although one or two sessions of suggestion therapy may stop people smoking, how long this lasts is very rarely investigated and the chances are many people would be smoking again within six months. Also if you think about it how many people are likely to return to the same hypnotherapist who told them they will stop smoking forever and admit that they have started again. Apart from anything their faith in the therapist will probably stop them from going back to them. The reason one session of suggestion therapy is unlikely to lead to permanent changes is that the subconscious mind holds the trigger for the craving to smoke. The habit of smoking is a form of sensual pleasure that relieves the craving. Therefore, it is essential to discover and understand what triggers the craving and once we have done this it can be removed. This can be done successfully through the Harmony4Life Advanced Stop Smoking Programme, which uses a combination of coaching, NLP and suggestion therapy over at least 3 sessions. As such stop smoking support starts from £65 per session which is generally less than other hypnotherapists' charge. Of course, if you have just one session and find that you immediately stop smoking and feel that’s enough you will only need to pay for that session. In terms of the return after stopping smoking, if you haven’t already considered this here are some figures to give you an idea of what you could save. If you currently smoke 1 pack of cigarettes per day at £5 per pack, this amounts to £150 per month. This means you'll have over £1800 extra cash for every year that you are a non-smoker. In addition of course there will be priceless health benefits. Also I will work with you to find alternative healthy behaviours which you can adopt instead of smoking. It may be that you would like to take up a sport or some other hobby instead of smoking and this can be incorporated into anti-smoking hypnotherapy as well. I also provide 'Top tips to support you in becoming a permanent non-smoker', including information on the side effects of stopping smoking, which you can download for FREE!
